Abstract
2-[2-Hydroxy-3,5-di-(.alpha.,.alpha.-dimethylbenzyl)phenyl]-2H-benzotriazol e exhibits outstanding efficacy in protecting organic substrates from light-induced deterioration as well as good resistance to loss by volatilization or exudation during the high temperature processing of stabilized compositions.

A compound of the formula ##STR4## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or chloro,
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently the group ##STR5## where R.sub.4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl.
