Abstract
An improved friction material for brakes and clutches, in which asbestos is partly or completely replaced by an artificial mineral fibre, in particular a blown alumino-silicate fibre made from the mineral kaolin.

A friction material wherein the asbestos fibres are substantially completely replaced by blown alumino-silicate ceramic fibres made from the mineral kaolin, said alumino-silicate fibres being substantially free of water glass.
