Abstract

This invention relates to compounds of the formula (I): ##STR1## in which: n is an integer from 1 to 5 inclusive, R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl group, R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl group, or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group, R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, a group of the formula ##STR2## or of the formula --CONHR.sub.6, in which: R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl group, R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl group, or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group, R.sub.6 represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group, R.sub.7 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and their C.sub.1-4 alkyl esters and their salts with pharmaceutically acceptable bases. Said compounds are useful as X-ray contrast media.

Dependent claims

A compound selected from the compounds of the formula (I):

n is an integer from 1 to 5 inclusive,
R.sub.1 is selected from hydrogen and C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl,
R.sub.2 is selected from hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl and C.sub.1-4 alkyl,
R.sub.3 is selected from hydrogen, a group of the formula ##STR16## and a group of the formula --CONHR.sub.6, in which:
R.sub.4 is selected from hydrogen and C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl,
R.sub.5 is selected from hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkanoyl and C.sub.1-4 alkyl,
R.sub.6 is selected from hydrogen and C.sub.1-4 alkyl,
R.sub.7 is selected from hydrogen and methyl, and
C.sub.1-4 alkyl esters thereof and a salt thereof with pharmaceutically acceptable bases.
