Abstract
A sweetener containing alpha-glycosyl stevioside which is obtained by allowing alpha-glucosyltransferase to react on an aqueous solution containing stevioside and alpha-glucosyl sugar compound.

A process for producing a sweetener containing alpha-glycosyl stevioside comprising allowing alpha-glucosyltransferase to react on an aqueous solution containing stevioside and alpha-glucosyl sugar compound for a time sufficient to produce said alpha-glucosyl stevioside.
