Abstract
This disclosure describes certain 11-(2-hydroxyethylthio) prostenoic acid E and F series derivatives, and their intermediates, useful as bronchodilators and inflammatory medeator release inhibitors.

An optically active compound of the formula:
- ##STR39## where G is a moiety selected from the group consisting of:
- ##STR40## wherein Z is --(CH.sub.2).sub.6 --;
- ##STR41## or ##STR42## R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy and C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy;
- and R is a moiety selected from the group consisting of:
- ##STR43## wherein R.sub.4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl and R.sub.5 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.4 -C.sub.7 alkyl and 2-cis(C.sub.4 -C.sub.6)alkenyl. The racemic mixture thereof;
- the mirror image therefore;
- and when R.sub.1 is hydroxy, the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
