Abstract
New carboxyalkylacylamino acids which have the general formula ##STR1## are useful as angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors.
Claims10
A method for relieving angiotensin related hypertension in mammalian species suffering therefrom which comprises administering a composition containing an effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR12## and physiologically acceptable basic salts thereof, wherein R.sub.1 is 3-indolyl-lower alkylene;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sub.3 is lower alkyl or phenyl-lower alkylene;
- R.sub.4 is hydroxy, lower alkoxy or hydroxyamino;
- and
- n is 1 or 2.
