Abstract
A process of removing soil and/or stains from fabrics by immersing the fabrics in a peroxygen bleach bath containing as a peroxygen activator an N-acyl-cyano cyclic amine selected from the class consisting of ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrocarbon radical selected from the group consisting of aliphatic of 1 to 18 carbon atoms and aromatic of the benzene and naphthalene series and X is selected from the class consisting of --C(O)-- and --S(O.sub.2)--, it being provided that the cyclic amine may contain a non-interfering substituent. Also described are dry blend compositions containing the activator and peroxygen.
Claims13
A process for the low temperature bleaching of stained and/or soiled fabrics characterized by treating them with an aqueous peroxygen bleaching solution having a pH of 6 to 12 and containing as a peroxygen activator therefor, an effective amount of an N-acyl-cyano cyclic amine selected from the class consisting of ##STR7## wherein R is a hydrocarbon radical selected from the group consisting of aliphatic of 1 to 18 carbon atoms and aromatic of the benzene and naphthalene series and X is selected from the class consisting of --C(O)-- and --S(O.sub.2)--, it being provided that the cyclic amine may contain a non-interfering substituent.
A bleaching composition consisting essentially of a peroxygen bleaching compound and as a peroxygen activator therefor an N-acylcyano cyclic amino selected from the class consisting of:
- ##STR8## wherein R is a hydrocarbon radical selected from the group consisting of aliphatic of 1 to 18 carbon atoms and aromatic of the benzene and naphthalene series and X is selected from the class consisting of --C(O)-- and --S(O.sub.2)--, it being provided that the cyclic amine may contain a non-interfering substituent.
