Abstract
The invention relates to novel 2,2-dioxo-1,2,3-benzoxathiazines substituted in the benzene nucleus, as well as the 3,4-dihydro analogs thereof, useful as anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic agents.
Claims13
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR11## wherein R.sub.5 is hydrogen;
- C.sub.1-3 alkyl;
- halogen;
- or C.sub.1-3 alkoxy;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen;
- C.sub.1-5 straight or branched chain alkyl;
- halogen;
- R.sub.7 is hydrogen;
- C.sub.1-5 alkyl;
- C.sub.1-5 alkoxy;
- or halogen;
- R.sub.8 is hydrogen;
- halogen;
- trifluoromethyl;
- or C.sub.1-3 alkylthio;
- and the dashed line between the 3- and 4- positions describes alternative saturation or unsaturation.
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR12## wherein R.sub.5 is hydrogen, or C.sub.1-3 alkoxy;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, halogen, or C.sub.3-5 branched chain alkyl;
- R.sub.7 is hydrogen or C.sub.1-3 alkoxy;
- and
- R.sub.8 is hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl or C.sub.1-3 alkylthio.
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR13## wherein R.sub.5 and R.sub.7 are hydrogen or methoxy;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, chloro, bromo, iodo, or C.sub.3-5 branched chain alkyl;
- and
- R.sub.8 is hydrogen, chloro, bromo, iodo, trifluoromethyl or methylthio.
The compound 2,2-dioxo-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-chloro-1,2,3-benzoxathiazine.
The compound 2,2-dioxo-3,4-dihydro-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-chloro-1,2,3-benzoxathiazine
The compound 2,2-dioxo-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-iodo-1,2,3-benzoxathiazine.
The compound 2,2-dioxo-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-trifluoromethyl-1,2,3-benzoxathiazine.
The compound 2,2-dioxo-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-methylthio-1,2,3-benzoxathiazine.
The compound 2,2-dioxo-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-bromo-1,2,3-benzoxathiazone.
The compound 2,2-dioxo-3,4-dihydro-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-iodo-1,2,3-benzoxathiazine.
The compound 2,2-dioxo-3,4-dihydro-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-8-trifluoromethyl-1,2,3-benzox athiazine.
