Abstract
This disclosure describes certain 11-(2-hydroxyethylthio)-9-keto-prostenoic acid E series derivatives, and their intermediates, useful as bronchodilators and inflammatory medeator release inhibitors.
Claims11
An optically active compound of the formula:
- ##STR43## wherein Z is a divalent moiety selected from the group consisting of --(CH.sub.2).sub.6 -- and ##STR44## R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy and C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy;
- and R is a moiety selected from the group consisting of ##STR45## wherein R.sub.6 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl, R.sub.8 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl and R.sub.11 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 alkyl;
- the racemic mixture thereof;
- the mirror image thereof;
- and when R.sub.1 is hydroxy, the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
