Abstract
New halogen substituted mercaptoacylamino acids which have the general formula ##STR1## ARE USEFUL AS HYPOTENSIVE AGENTS.

A compound of the formula ##STR12## wherein R is hydrogen, lower alkanoyl or ##STR13## m is 2;
- n is 0 or 1;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.2 ' each is hydrogen or halogen;
- R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each is hydrogen, lower alkyl or trifluoromethyl, not more than one being trifluoromethyl, and at least one of R.sub.2, R.sub.2 ', R.sub.3 or R.sub.4 is a halogen or trifluoromethyl substituent represented by the named symbol as defined above;
- and basic salts thereof.
