Reinforced tire and method of manufacturing same

An assembly comprising at least the following parts which when joined together form part of a pneumatic, reinforced tire:

• first and second molded tire sections each including an annular side wall;
• a plurality of radially-spaced-apart partially cured elastomeric annular bands formed integrally with and extending substantially axially from said side wall, and a plurality of annular reinforcing elements, each element being embedded in said side wall and having at least one edge thereof terminating in one of said annular bands,
• a third connecting molded tire section having a plurality of radially-spaced-apart partially cured elastomeric reinforced annular bands, said third section being disposed between said first and second sections with the bands of said first and second sections being interleaved and joined with the bands of said connecting section.

A molded article for use in manufacturing a pneumatic reinforced tire comprising:

• an annular side wall;
• a plurality of radially-spaced-apart partially cured elastomeric annular bands formed integrally with and extending substantially axially from said side wall, and
• a plurality of annular reinforcing elements, each element being embedded in said side wall and having at least one edge thereof terminating in one of said annular bands.
