Abstract
Disclosed is an additive in a molded form for use in refining iron. The additive comprises a mixture of at least one metal selected from magnesium, calcium and aluminum, and at least one metal oxide selected from magnesium oxide, calcium oxide and aluminum oxide.

An additive in a molded form for use in refining iron, comprising a mixture of 5% to 90% by weight of magnesium and 10% to 95% by weight of magnesium oxide.
