Abstract
A motor vehicle air-conditioning system includes a compressor driven by the motor vehicle engine through a clutch and means for disengaging the clutch, thereby decoupling the compressor from the engine, when the vehicle is accelerating. According to the invention, means are provided for automatically reengaging the clutch after an adjustable period of delay from the time that the clutch is disengaged.

In an air-conditioning system for a motor vehicle having a compressor driven by the motor vehicle engine through a clutch, and having means for disengaging said clutch, thereby decoupling said compressor from said engine, when the vehicle is accelerating;
- the improvement comprising time delay means, actuated by the disengaing of said clutch, for automatically reengaging said clutch after a predetermined, fixed period of delay from the point of time that said clutch is disengaged.
