Abstract
A mixture of (1) a substituted phenol/epichlorohydrin/amine adduct and (2) a polyalkylene phenol as a multipurpose, low concentration additive for hydrocarbon fuels, lubricating oils and mixtures thereof.
Claims24
A composition comprising a blend of (A) a major proportion of a hydrocarbon fuel, a lubricating oil, or a mixture of a hydrocarbon fuel and a lubricating oil, and (B) a minor detergent amount of a multipurpose additive comprising a mixture of:
- (1) the reaction product of (a) a glycidyl ether compound of the formula ##STR20## where R.sup.6 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having at least 8 carbon atoms and m is 1-3, and (b) an amine having at least one amino group having at least one active hydrogen atom, and
- (2) a polyalkylene phenol.
A multipurpose additive for a hydrocarbon fuel, a lubricating oil, or a mixture of a hydrocarbon fuel and a lubricating oil, comprising a mixture of:
- (1) the reaction product of (a) a glycidyl ether compound of the formula ##STR24## where R.sup.6 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having at least 8 carbon atoms and m is 1-3, and (b) an amine having at least one amino group having at least one active hydrogen atom, and
- (2) a polyalkylene phenol.
