A bicyclo[2.2.2]octene derivative having the formula selected from the group consisting of:
- ##STR35## or a mixture thereof wherein the wavy lines represent exo and endo configurations of the ethanol moiety with respect to the carbon-carbon double bond of the bicyclo[2.2.2]octene moiety.
