Abstract
An anion exchange resin particle provided with specific structure as well as specific functional groups is found to be suitable for uranium technology, especially for separation of uranium isotopes.
Claims9
In a process for separation of uranium isotopes by displacing at least one redox boundary formed between an adsorption zone of uranium isotope mixture and a reducing agent or an oxidizing agent through a system of anion exchanger while conducting a redox reaction at said boundary thereby to concentrate at least one isotope in the region near said boundary, the improvement which comprises using as anion exchange an anion exchanger particle with a size of 1 mm or less in diameter compris- a three-dimensionally crosslinked polymer containing functional groups having anion exchange capacity of 0.2 milliequivalents or more per gram of dry resin and having a self-diffusion coefficient of uranyl ion of at least 1 .times. 10.sup.=7 cm.sup.2 /sec.
