Abstract
Disazo dyestuffs of the formula A'--N.dbd.N--B'--N.dbd.N--K are disclosed in which A' is an aromatic carbocyclic or aromatic heterocyclic radical; B' is aromatic carbocyclic and at least one of A' and B' carries a cyano group ortho to the azo group; and K is the radical of a coupling component, e.g. parahydroxyaryl or N-substituted paraaminoaryl radicals. These dyestuffs are useful for dyeing synthetic hydrophobic materials such as polyesters, cellulose triacetate, polyamides, polyolefins, polyurethanes and polymers and copolymers of acrylonitrile to give greenish-blue to bluish-red shades with good fastness properties.

Dyestuff of the formula ##STR91## where Y is H, Cl, CH.sub.3, NO.sub.2 ;
- Y.sub.1 is H, CH.sub.3 ;
- Z is CH.sub.3, OCH.sub.3, Cl, CN;
- W.sub.1 is H, CH.sub.3, NHCOCH.sub.3, NHCOCH.sub.2 --OCOCH.sub.3 ;
- W.sub.3 is H or OC.sub.2 H.sub.5 ;
- X is H, C.sub.2 H.sub.5, --OCOOCH.sub.3 or OCOCH.sub.3 ;
- and
- X.sub.1 is H, OH, COOCH.sub.3, OCOCH.sub.3 or OCOOCH.sub.3.
Dyestuff of the formula ##STR95## where Z is CH.sub.3, OCH.sub.3, Cl, or CN;
- Y is H, CH.sub.3, or NO.sub.2 ;
- and
- Y.sub.1 is H or CH.sub.3.
