Abstract
Compounds useful as lube oil additives are prepared by reaction of phosphorus halides and piperazine derivatives.

##STR29## wherein X represents an oxygen or sulfur atom or is absent;
- and
- R represents a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl group, or a phenyl group.
A compound selected from the group consisting of
- Ethyl bispiperazidophosphate;
- n-Octadecyl bispiperazidophosphate;
- Phenyl bispiperazidophosphate;
- Ethyl bispiperazidothiophosphate
- Phenyl bispiperazidothiophoshate;
- Octadecyl bispiperazidothiophosphate;
- and
- Ethyl bispiperazidophophite.
