Abstract
A catalytic process is provided for converting an organic charge consisting essentially of methanol, dimethyl ether or mixtures thereof together with at least about 0.25 moles of water per mole of said organic charge to a hydrocarbon product rich in ethylene and propylene by contact, under conversion conditions, with a catalyst comprising a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite of the erionite-offretite family.
Claims19
A catalytic process for converting an organic charge consisting essentially of methanol, dimethyl ether or mixtures thereof, together with at least about 0.25 moles of water per mole of said organic charge, to a hydrocarbon product rich in ethylene and propylene which comprises contacting said charge under conversion conditions including a temperature between about 500.degree. F. and about 1000.degree. F., a pressure from about 0.1 to 30 atmospheres and a weight hourly space velocity of between about 0.1 and about 30 with a catalyst comprising a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite of the erionite-offretite family.
