Abstract
Novel 1-(.beta.-aryl)ethyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole ketals useful for their antimicrobial and plant-growth regulating activities.
Claims6
A chemical compound selected from the group consisting of a 1-(.beta.-aryl)ethyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole ketal having the formula:
- ##STR9## and the therapeutically active acid addition salts thereof, wherein:
- Z is an alkylene selected from the group consisting of --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, --CH(CH.sub.3)--CH(CH.sub.3)-- and --CH.sub.2 --CH(alkyl)--, wherein said alkyl has from 1 to 10 carbon atoms;
- and
- Ar is a member selected from the group consisting of phenyl, substituted phenyl, thienyl, 5 chloro-2-thienyl, naphthyl and fluorenyl, and wherein "substituted phenyl" has the meaning of a phenyl radical having thereon from 1 to 3 substituents selected independently from the group consisting of halo, loweralkyl, loweralkyloxy, cyano and nitro.
A member selected from the group consisting of 1-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]-1H-1,2,4-triazole and the therapeutically active acid addition salts thereof.
A member selected from the group consisting of 1-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]-1H-1,2,4-triaz ole and the therapeutically active acid addition salts thereof.
A member selected from the group consisting of 1-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-ethyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]-1H-1,2,4-triazo le and the therapeutically active acid addition salts thereof.
A member selected from the group consisting of 1-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-propyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]-1H-1,2,4-triaz ole and the therapeutically active acid addition salts thereof.
A member selected from the group consisting of 1-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-pentyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl]-1H-1,2,4-triaz ole and the therapeutically active acid addition salts thereof.
