Claims42
A compound selected from the group consisting of an optically active compound of the formula:
- ##STR49## and a racemic compound of that formula and the mirror image thereof wherein p is an integer from 1 to 5, inclusive;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having up to four carbon atoms;
- R.sub.1 is an alkyl group having up to three carbon atoms;
- X is a divalent radical selected from the group consisting of those of the formulae:
- ##STR50## wherein R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, triphenylmethyl, and mono- or di-methoxy substituted triphenylmethyl and R.sub.7 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having up to three carbon atoms with the proviso that when R.sub.7 is alkyl then R.sub.2 must be hydrogen;
- R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, alkoxy having up to twelve carbon atoms, tetrahydropyranyloxy and tri(lower alkyl)-silyloxy;
- R.sub.8 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, tetrahydropyranyl and tri(lower alkyl)silyl;
- s is zero or an integer from 1 to 5, inclusive;
- t is zero or one;
- E is selected from the group consisting of cyclopropyl, cyclononyl and cycloalkenyl having from 5 to 9 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.11 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and lower alkyl;
- with the proviso that when E is a saturated cycloalkyl group then the sum of s and t is at least one;
- and the pharmaceutically acceptable cationic salts thereof when R.sub.3 is hydroxy.
