Abstract
Compounds which are useful as insecticide activators are described herein. The compounds are defined by the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of chlorine, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, and methylenedioxy; and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive.
Claims32
A compound having the formula ##STR10## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of chlorine, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, and methylenedioxy;
- and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive.
An insecticidally active composition comprising an insecticidally effective amount of an insecticide defined as N-(mercaptomethyl) phthalimide S-(O,O-dimethylphosphorodithioate) and an effective amount of an activator having the formula ##STR11## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of chlorine, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, and methylenedioxy, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive;
- said activator being present in an amount ranging between 0.1 and 10 parts by weight per each part by weight insecticide.
A method of controlling insects comprising applying to the habitat thereof an insecticidally effective amount of an insecticidally active composition comprisng an insecticide defined as N-(mercaptomethyl) phthalimide S-(O,O-dimethyl phosphorodithioate) and an effective amount of an activator having the formula ##STR12## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of chlorine, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, and methylenedioxy;
- and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive;
- said activator being present in an amount ranging between 0.1 and 10 parts by weight per each part by weight insecticide.
An insecticidally active composition comprising an inert diluent carrier, an insecticidally effective amount of an insecticide defined as N-(mercaptomethyl) phthalimide S-(O,O-dimethylphosphorodithioate) and an effective amount of an activator having the formula ##STR13## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of chlorine, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, and methylenedioxy;
- and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive;
- said activator being present in an amount ranging from between 0.1 and 10 parts by weight per each part by weight insecticide.
