Abstract
A water-miscible organic solvent is recovered from a mixture containing the solvent and water by adding an inert compound which is immiscible with the water and has a vapor pressure of no more than 5 mm Hg (abs.) at 100.degree. C. to the mixture and thereafter distilling off the organic solvent.
Claims7
A process for removing organopolysiloxane resins from a mixture containing water, a water-miscible organic solvent having a boiling point below that of water and an organopolysiloxane resin which comprises adding an inert organic compound which is a non-solvent for the organopolysiloxane resins and is immiscible with water and has a vapor pressure up to 5 mm Hg (abs.) at 100.degree. C. to the mixture, distilling off the water-miscible organic solvent and thereafter separating the organopolysiloxane resins from the organic compound.
