The invention concerns a method for the preparation of additives for influencing the electrocrystalline growth in aprotic oxygen- and water-free organo-aluminum electrolyte media. A compound which contains a sulfonimide or sulfonamide group as the reactable group, preferably, N-benzoylbenzenesulfonimide, optionally in the presence of an inert organic solvent, is reacted with at least one organoaluminum compound of the general formula AlR.sub.3, where R is an alkyl radical, in the ratio of 1:1 to 1:6. The additives obtained furnish a bright aluminum coating on metals and conductive materials in direct electrodeposition.
A method for the preparation of an additive for influencing the electrocrystalline growth in aprotic oxygen -- and water-free organo-aluminum electrolyte media comprising adding at least one organo-aluminum compound of the general formula AlR.sub.3, wherein R is an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms to a sulfonamide compound selected from the group consisting of o-benzoic acid sulfonimide, N-benzoylbenzene sulfonimide, di-benzene sulfonimide, benzene-o-disulfonimide and benzene sulfonic acid amide in the presence of inert organic solvent at a temperature not exceeding 100.degree. C to form a reaction product of said organo-aluminum compound and said sulfonamide compound dissolved in said inert organic solvent, said reaction product containing an aromatic ring substituent and an alkyl group bound to aluminum.
A method for the preparation of an additive for influencing the electrocrystalline growth in aprotic oxygen- and water-free organic aluminum electrolyte media comprising adding aluminum triethyl to a suspension of o-benzoic acid sulfonimide in an inert organic solvent at from 20.degree. C to 100.degree. C wherein the molar ratio of o-benzoic acid sulfonimide to aluminum triethyl is from about 1:2 to 2:1 to form a reaction product of said sulfonimide and said aluminum triethyl dissolved in said inert organic solvent said reaction product containing an aromatic ring substituent and an alkyl group bonded to aluminum.
A method for the preparation of an additive for influencing the electrocrystalline growth in aprotic oxygen- and water-free organic aluminum electrolyte media comprising adding aluminum triethyl to a suspension of n-benzoylbenzene sulfonimide in toluene at from 70.degree. to 80.degree. C wherein the molar ratio of n-benzoylbenzene sulfonimide to aluminum triethyl is about 1:4 to form a reaction product of said sulfonimide and said aluminum triethyl dissolved in toluene said reaction product containing an aromatic ring substituent and an alkyl group bonded to aluminum.
A method for the preparation of an additive for influencing the electrocrystalline growth in aprotic oxygen- and water-free organic aluminum electrolyte media comprising adding aluminum triethyl to a suspension of dibenzene sulfonimide in xylene at from 80.degree. C to 100.degree. C wherein the molar ratio of dibenzene sulfonamide to aluminum triethyl is about 1:6 to form a reaction product of said sulfonamide and said aluminum triethyl dissolved in xylene said reaction product containing an aromatic ring substituent and an alkyl group bonded to aluminum.
