Abstract
An anti-pilling polyester fiber having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.32 to 0.48 which has the following physical properties: tenacity, 3.5 to 5.0 g/d; knot tenacity, not more than 3.0 g/d; ratio of tenacity and knot tenacity, not less than 1.5.
Claims5
An anti-pilling polyester fiber having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.32 to 0.48 as determined in a solvent mixture consisting of phenol and tetrachloroethane in a weight ratio of 6:4 at 30.degree. C. which has the following physical properties:
- Tenacity = 3.5 to 5.0 g/d;
- Knot Tenacity = not more than 3.0 g/d;
- Ratio of Tenacity to Knot Tenacity = not less than 1.5;
- Birefringence = not less than 0.170;
- and
- Tensile elongation at break = 10 to 20%.
