Abstract
A process for the preparation of 1,4-bis-(aminomethyl)cyclohexane by hydrogenating a solvent solution of terephthalonitrile containing at least about 5% by volume of ammonia, said hydrogenation being conducted at a temperature between about 100.degree. and about 150.degree. C, at a pressure of at least about 750 psig, and in the presence of an oxide supported catalyst consisting of from about 10% to 45% by weight of palladium and from about 90% to about 55% by weight of ruthenium.
Claims11
A process for the preparation of 1,4-bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane by hydrogenating an inert solvent solution of terephthalonitrile containing at least about 5% by volume of ammonia, said solvent being selected from the group of alcohols, ether and amines, said hydrogenation being conducted at a temperature between about 100.degree. and about 150.degree. C, at a pressure of at least about 750 psig, and in the presence of oxide supported catalyst consisting of from about 10% to 45% by weight of palladium and from about 90% to about 55% by weight of ruthenium.
