Abstract
A flame retardant, non-dripping, shape-retaining thermoplastic polyester resin is disclosed comprising (a) a linear polyester, (b) a halogenated aromatic compound, (c) a zirconium compound, preferably in combination with antimony trioxide, and (d) a fibrous reinforcing agent.

A flame-retardant, non-dripping, shape-retaining thermoplastic polyester resin comprising about 100 parts by weight of a linear polyester, about 5 to 25 parts by weight of a halogenated aromatic compound, about 1 to 20 parts by weight of antimony trioxide, and about 1 to 20 parts by weight of a zirconium compound containing a substantial and effective proportion of zirconium oxide.
