Abstract
An improved golf ball is made from a composition comprising an unsaturated elastomer cross linked with a chain comprising the reaction product of a monohydric alkenyl ester and a diisocyanate or a diisothiocyanate.
Claims9
A golf ball comprising at least in part a polymerized unsaturated elastomer said polymerized unsaturated elastomer being cross linked by a compound having the formula:
- ##STR3## wherein:
- R.sub.1 is any divalent, aliphatic, or cycloaliphatic moiety of up to about 20 carbon atoms or mixtures thereof including heteroatom substituted aliphatic or cycloaliphatic moieties;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having up to about 5 carbon atoms;
- P.sub.y is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic moiety of from about 5 to about 20 carbon atoms or is R.sub.3 --P.sub.z --R.sub.4 wherein:
- R.sub.3 is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic moiety of from about 5 to about 20 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.4 is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic moiety of from about 5 to about 20 carbon atoms;
- P.sub.z is an organic polymeric segment selected from the group consisting of polyurethanes, polyureas, polyethers, and polyesters and has a molecular weight of from about 500 to about 5,000.
- X is oxygen or sulfur.
