Abstract
Composition comprising a highly ferromagnetic CrO.sub.2 having deposited on the surface thereof an insoluble or sparingly soluble compound, thereby rendering the composition essentially non-reactive to water or oxidizable organic substances. Compound comprises either an oxide or hydroxide of Si and/or Ti.
Claims9
A stabilized composition consisting essentially of ferromagnetic chromium dioxide particles having deposited on the surface thereof a coating consisting of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of hydrated and anhydrous oxides of silicon, said compound being present in an amount of from about 0.1 to 25 percent by weight based on the chromium dioxide.
A stabilized composition consisting essentially of ferromagnetic chromium dioxide particles having deposited on the surface thereof a coating consisting essentially of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of hydrated and anhydrous oxides of titanium, said compound being present in an amount of from about 0.1 to 25 percent by weight based on the chromium dioxide.
