Abstract
Mite eggs are killed by applying thereto N-tetrachloroethylthio-substituted halomethanesulfonamides of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, X is fluoro, chloro, bromo or iodo and R' is tetrachloroethyl.

A compound of the formula ##STR4## wherein R is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 5 to 8 carbon atoms substituted with up to 2 alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or phenyl substituted with up to 2 fluoro, chloro, bromo, iodo or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- X is fluoro, chloro, bromo or iodo and R' is tetrachloroethyl.
