Abstract
Drug compositions including a lactam of the substituted ortho-sulfobenzoic acid imido pyrrolidone-2, piperidone-2, or caprolactam type. The drug compositions have valuable therapeutic properties: they are immunouppressive, sedative and have antitumor activity. The method of inducing sedation in warmblooded animals.

A pharmaceutical composition having therapeutic properties as sedative and hypnotics comprising a compound of the general formula ##STR9## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical with 1 to 3 carbon atoms and m is 2, 3 or 4, in a therapeutically effective amount to induce sedation, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
The method of inducing sedation in warm-blooded animals which comprises administering to said warm-blooded animals a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of the general formula ##STR10## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical with 1 to 3 carbon atoms and m is 2, 3 or 4 in a controlled dosage effective to induce sedation.
