Phosphonate compounds are employed in the treatment of hypoxias and ischemic tissue diseases.
Claims15
A process for treating tissue or organ damage in a human or lower animal caused by ischemia of that tissue or organ, comprising administering to said human or lower animal in need of such treatment sufficient organophosphonate compound characterized by more than one phosphonate moiety to alleviate said tissue or organ damage.
