Abstract

Orally administered compositions for altering lipid metabolism are described herein, these compositions containing an effective dose of antibiotic SCH-16656. Also the method of altering lipid metabolism including reducing and controlling the blood cholesterol level is described herein.

Dependent claims

A process for treating hypercholesterolemia in a large mammal in need of said treatment which comprises orally administering an effective dose for treating hypercholesterolemia of antibiotic SCH-16656 to said mammal.
