Abstract
The preparation of a 1,2-epoxy propyl trialkylamine chloride in a methanol solution is disclosed. The products are useful for preparing cationic ethers in both aqueous and organic solvent solutions free of inorganic alkalis or salts.
Claims2
In a process for preparing a 1,2-epoxy propyl trialkylamine chloride, the improvement which comprises;
- reacting epichlorohydrin in a methanol solution with a stoichiometric amount of trialkylamine at a temperature between 0.degree. and 60.degree. C., said methanol being about 5% to 70% by weight of the total.
