Abstract
A method of hardening gelatin which comprises treating gelatin with a compound represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 6 or less carbon atoms, an aryl group having 8 or less carbon atoms, a haloalkyl group having 2 or less carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 10 or less carbon atoms, a halogen atom, a carboxy group, a sulfo group, a salt, an alkyl ester having 4 or less carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety or an amide of said carboxy or sulfo group, an acylamino group or a nitro group, n represents 1 or 2, and R represents a monovalent or divalent organic group.

A method of hardening gelatin which comprises treating gelatin with a compound represented by the formula (I):
- ##STR4## wherein X represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 6 or less carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6 to 8 carbon atoms, a haloalkyl group having 1 to 2 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 10 or less carbon atoms, a halogen atom, a carboxy group, a sulfo group, a salt of a carboxy group or a sulfo group, an alkyl ester having 4 or less carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety or an amide of said carboxy and sulfo group, an acylamino group or a nitro group, n represents 1 or 2, and R represents a monovalent or divalent organic group.
