Abstract
Substituted 6-carboxy flavones are disclosed, such as, for instance, 6-carboxy-2'-isopropoxy-flavone. Such flavone derivatives possess anti-allergic activity, decrease airway resistance and increase pulmonary compliance. In addition, the compounds possess anti-ulcer activity.

Compound selected from the group consisting
- compound of the formula:
- ##STR44## wherein R is carboxy or --COOR.sub.13, wherein R.sub.13 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl;
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen, allyl or propyl;
- R.sub.8 is (a) a radical ##STR45## wherein each of R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 are hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, (b) a radical --(O).sub.m --R.sub.14, wherein m is 0 or 1 and R.sub.14 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl which may be unsubstituted or substituted with hydroxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy;
- and R.sub.7 is hydrogen;
- and
- a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
