Abstract
Novel 7-methoxy 3-phosphoranylidene cephem compounds which find utility as intermediates in the preparation of antibiotically active 7-methoxy-3-vinyl cephalosporins.
Claims7
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR28## wherein R.sub.4 represents an acyl group of the formula:
- ##STR29## wherein R' is phenyl, thienyl, furyl or thiazolyl;
- and Y is hydrogen, amino, guanidino, carboxy, or hydroxy;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen or a carboxyl blocking group;
- R.sub.x is phenyl or substituted phenyl wherein the substituent is selected from the group consisting of halo, nitro, amino, and hydroxyl.
