Abstract
The invention relates to thiazolidine derivatives having in 4-position a hydroxy group and a 3'-sulphamyl-phenyl substituent, in 2-position an imino group and in 1-position an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic substituent. Said thiazolidines have diuretic activity. The invention also relates to a process for the manufacture of said compounds.
Claims12
A thiazolidine derivative of the formula ##STR512## and acid addition salts thereof with a pharmaceutically acceptable acid, wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl or alkenyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, or dialkylamino having a total of up to 7 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.2 is alkyl, alkenyl, or alkinyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms which may optionally be substituted by alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or R.sup.2 is cycloalkyl having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, or R.sup.2 is phenylalkyl having 1 to 2 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety which may optionally be substituted in the phenyl ring by halogen, lower alkyl, alkoxy, or alkylenedioxy, or R.sup.2 is alkyl having 1 to 2 carbon atoms substituted by cycloalkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, or R.sup.2 is dialkylamino having up to a total of 7 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.3 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 2 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are identical or different and each is hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms which may optionally be substituted by alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 each is cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl having 3 to 9 carbon atoms, phenyl, or phenylalkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, the phenyl ring of which may optionally be substituted by halogen, lower alkyl, alkoxy, or alkylenedioxy;
- and Y is hydrogen, halogen, methyl or trifluoromethyl.
