Abstract
This invention is concerned with the treatment of particulate titanium dioxide with a polyether substituted silicon compound which serves to enhance its employment in pigmented and/or filled paints and plastics, and in reinforced plastic composite compositions.
Claims10
A composition comprising titanium dioxide particles containing on their surfaces a silane, its hydrolyzates or resulting condensate, which silane possesses at least two to about three hydrolyzable groups bonded to the silicon thereof and an organic group which contains a polyalkylene oxide group, said silane being present on said surfaces in an amount sufficient to improve the dispersibility of said particles in a resin or plastic medium.
