Abstract
Novel substituted (3-loweralkylamino-2-R.sub.1 O-propoxy)pyridines, their pharmaceutically acceptable salts and their preparation are disclosed. These pyridines have pharmaceutical properties such as anti-hypertensive activity of rapid onset.

Compound having the formula ##STR15## wherein R is C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 branched alkyl and
- R.sub.2 is selected from trihalomethyl, ##STR16## pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
