7-Dithioacetamido cephalosporins

A chemical compound of the formula:

• ##STR2## or a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in which:
• R is lower alkyl of from 1-4 carbon atoms, trichloromethyl, trifluoromethyl, cyanomethyl, or trifluoroethyl;
• R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methoxy;
• X is SHet;
• and
• Het is triazolyl, tetrazolyl, oxazolyl, oxadiazolyl, thiazolyl or thiadiazolyl unsubstituted or substituted with one or two substituents comprising lower alkyl of 1 to 4 carbons, mercapto, trifluoromethyl or (CH.sub.2).sub.n COX where n is 0 to 5 and X is OH or NH.sub.2.
