Abstract
Disclosed are pyridinecarboxylic acids and derivatives thereof which are useful as intermediates for the preparation of 1H-pyrido(2,3-c or 4,3-c) (1,2,6)thiadiazin-4(3H)-one-2,2-dioxide compounds and derivatives thereof which are useful as herbicides.
Claims2
A compound of the formulae:
- ##STR33## wherein:
- each X independently represents loweralkyl, of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, haloloweralkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms, SR.sup.5, OR.sup.5, aryl wherein aryl is phenyl, halophenyl or tolyl, --NR.sup.3 R.sup.4, halo or nitro;
- n represents an integer of 0 to 3, inclusive;
- Y represents oxygen;
- T represents a member selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, alkoxy of 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
- R' represents aryl wherein aryl is phenyl, halophenyl, tolyl or benzyl;
- each of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently represent hydrogen or loweralkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.5 represents loweralkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
