Abstract
Ribofuranosyl derivatives of 3-deazaguanine including the 5'-phosphate, 3',5'-cyclic phosphate and 5'-deoxy, useful as antiviral agents and antibacterial agents, are disclosed.
Claims14
A compound of the structure ##STR7## wherein X is ##STR8## --NH.sub.2 or --OCH.sub.3 ;
- Y is ##STR9## or --C.tbd.N where R is H or acyl and R.sup.1 is .dbd.Ch--N(CH.sub.3).sub.2 ;
- Z is .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl, 5-deoxy-.beta.-D-ribofuranosyl, .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl-5-phosphate, .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl-3,5-cyclic phosphate, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 acyl and isopropylidene .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 acyl and isopropylidene 5-deoxy-.beta.-D-ribofuranoxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 acyl and isopropylidene .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl-5-phosphate or C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl-3,5-cyclic phosphate;
- and the physiologically acceptable salts thereof;
- with the proviso that X is ##STR10## only when X and Y are joined together;
- and X is --NH.sub.2 or --OCH.sub.3 and Y is --C.tbd.N only when X and Y are not joined together;
- and Z is not .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 acyl .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl when Y is ##STR11## where R is H.
A compound of the structure ##STR12## wherein Z is 5-deoxy-.beta.-D-ribofuranosyl, .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl-5-phosphate or .beta.-D-ribofuranosyl-3,5-cyclic phosphate;
- and the C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 acyl, isopropylidene and dimethylaminomethylene derivatives and the physiologically acceptable salts, thereof.
6-Amino-3-(5-phosphoryl-.beta.-D-ribofuranosyl)imidazo[4,5-c]pyridin-4( 5H)one.
6-A mino-1-(5-phosphoryl-.beta.-D-ribofuranosyl)imidazo[4,5-c]pyridin-4(5H)one.
6-Amino-1-(3,5-cyclic phosphoryl-.beta.-D-ribofuranosyl)imidazo[4,5-c]pyridin-4(5H)one.
