Abstract
Electroless metal coatings of increased adhesion are obtained on nitrocelose base propellant films, grains, etc., by incorporating an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer in the nitrocellulose propellant substrate to be electrolessly coated with the metal.
Claims12
In a method for producing a metal coating on a nitrocellulose base propellant substrate, wherein the metal is deposited on the nitrocellulose substrate from an electroless metal plating bath, the improvement which comprises incorporating in the nitrocellulose substrate to be coated an effective amount of an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer to increase the adhesion of the metal coating produced.
An electroless metal plated nitrocellulose base propellant substrate, said substrate comprising an effective amount of an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer to increase the adhesion of the metal plating to said substrate.
