Abstract
A method for alleviating or reducing angiotensin related hypertension in hypertensive mammals comprises administering to such hypertensive mammals an effective amount of an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor selected from a group of mercaptoacyl aminoacids.

A method for alleviating angiotensin related hypertension in hypertensive mammals which comprises administering an effective dose of an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor having the formula ##STR8## or salt thereof, wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, phenyllower alkylene, hydroxy-lower alkylene, hydroxyphenyl-lower alkylene or guanidinolower alkylene;
- R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each is hydrogen, lower alkyl or phenyl-lower alkylene;
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen, lower alkanoyl, benzoyl or ##STR9## n is 0, 1 or 2.
