Abstract
Prostaglandin compounds substituted at the 11-position with a methyl group are prepared from PGA.sub.2, its 15-epimer, and their esters. These compounds, not heretofore found in nature, possess a variety of pharmacological activities one of which is bronchodilation.

A compound of the structure:
- ##SPC14##
- wherein A is CHOH or C=O;
- R is H or alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and
- i. X is a single bond;
- or
- ii. X is a trans double bond.
