Abstract
Vulcanizable rubber formulations will contain, as an inhibitor therefor, a compound having the formula: ##STR1## in which R and R' are independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl of from 1 to about 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having from 3 to about 8 carbon atoms, phenyl and tolyl radicals. The aforesaid rubber formulations are exemplified by a styrene-butadiene rubber containing bis(N-methyl-p-toluenesulfonamido)sulfide.

A vulcanizable diene rubber formulation containing, as an inhibitor against premature vulcanization thereof, a compound having the formula:
- ##STR6## in which R and R' are independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl of from 1 to about 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having from 3 to about 8 carbon atoms in the ring, phenyl and tolyl radicals.
