Abstract
Novel 4,5-seco-steroids having anti-inflammatory activity are disclosed herein.
Claims13
A compound having the structure ##STR28## wherein A is --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2 or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.3 ;
- X.sub.1 is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine or fluorine;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, ##STR29## chlorine, bromine, fluorine or iodine;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen or ##STR30## R.sub.3 is hydrogen, .alpha.-methyl, .beta.-methyl, or methylene;
- R.sub.4 is lower alkyl or phenyl;
- and Y is hydrogen and Y' is hydroxyl or together Y and Y' are .dbd.O;
- wherein lower alkyl is alkyl of 1 to 7 carbon atoms.
