Abstract
N-benzyl-2-(3,5-dimethyl phenoxy)-2-alkoxy amide compounds having the formula ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or alkyl and R.sub.1 is alkyl; and their use as herbicides.

The method of controlling undesirable vegetation which comprises applying to the area where control of said vegetative growth is desired, an herbicidal amount of a compound having the formula ##STR8## in which R is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R.sup.1 is alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
