Abstract
A series of 1-[[[5-(substituted phenyl-2-oxazolyl]methylene]amino]-2,4-imidazolidinediones are useful as muscle relaxants.

A compound of the formula:
- ##STR3## wherein X represents hydrogen, 4-halo, 3,4-dichloro, 4-nitro, 4-methoxy, 4-methyl or 3-trifluoromethyl.
The method of preparing a compound of the formula:
- ##STR4## wherein X represents hydrogen, 4-halo, 3,4-dichloro, 4-nitro, 4-methoxy, 4-methyl or 3-trifluoromethyl which comprises causing cyclization in a compound of the formula:
- ##STR5## wherein X has the significance above given in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride.
